One year ago no one would have imagined that our very existence would hinge on separation and cloth coverings. Here we are, Thanksgiving 2020, each day filled with growing numbers of positive COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. Even in the mist of a pandemic, one can find gratitude.
Thankful the adjustment of our collective priorities - family and loved ones.
Grateful for others' sacrifices - our healthcare professionals and newly labeled "essential" and frontline workers;" i.e. food service, truck drivers, grocery workers, delivery personnel, and the list goes on....
Reflective of the beauty, complexity, and yet simplicity of nature. The fresh air provided by greenways, trails, and forests give us peace when physically distancing moved us indoors.
Appreciative of my fellow human beings that wear the mask for themselves and for the preservation of the collective "us."
Patience in knowing that together, we can support, overcome, and one day, rejoice in facing one of the gravest times in history with strength, compassion, courage, and most of all...
